Based on the high water requirement of Beijing city green lawn, this paper investigated the typical cases of each function lawn, measuring and collecting the data of different lawn.This paper firstly reviewed the status quo of lawn water use and the factors affecting lawn water use domestic and foreign; in the existing research foundation, this paper analyses the meaning of the function classification and the specific ways of the classification, then combine the tyFigal case investigation of function lawn, analyzing the status and characteristics of each function lawn in Beijing.This paper collected 12 kinds of index data of lawns which may have effect on the lawn water requirement and. relating to the lawn quality, such as texture, density, color, uniformity, strength, clipping times and so on. For researching the quantity relationship between the lawn water requirement and these indexes, this paper uses exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to determine the index system, clarifying these indexes into three categories, then used the simple linear correlation coefficient to analyze the factors quantitatively. Through calculating the correlation coefficient between the index of lawn water use and the three principal factors, this paper conclude the different influence degree of the factors to the different lawn.Finally, this paper concluded that the landscape factors affecting the most on the lawn water requirement. For each functional lawn, public lawn demanding the most on the landscape, while sport lawn demanding both on the landscape and the lawn quality, so both of the lawn have a large requirement on lawn water. In the actual lawn water-saving study, the research should pay more attention to these two function lawns.
