Investigation And Analysis Of Turfgrass' Application Status In Hunan Agricultural University

Lawn is an important part of landscaping and plays an important role in beautify,protecting and improving environment.This paper carries out an investigation of the turf in the campus,HUNAU,that understand the application status of turfgrass and found problems exist on the turf,then quality reconstruction is recommended to enhance the turf quality.The main results are as follows:(1) Hunan Agricultural University campus has built three types of lawn:landscape lawn,open lawn,sports lawn. After the investigation we found that there are many problems on the turf:less species turfgrass, weed invasion seriously, trample frequently, inattentive maintenance management, lawn deteriorate and so on.(2) There are totally 36 weed species in the campus,HUNAU,and belonging to 18 plant families.Compositae covers up to 8 species,accounting for 22.2% of the total number of weeds; Gramineae accounting for 16.7%;Apiaceae up to 3 species,accounting for 8.3%;Cyperus,Purple nutsedge and Eleusine are malignant weeds in campus lawn,HUNAU, and turf is being endangered seriously by them.(3) The quality of same grass lawn is decreased as the shade density increases;When lawn's growth environment is too shading, some gramineae turfgrasses presents poor growth, inhibited growth, even make the turf degenerate in serious situation, and resulted a large area of bare land.The shade-tolerant ground cover plants grow well, it can be a good choice to replace gramineae turfgrass,which can't growth well under the shading environment.(4) A comprehensive evaluation for turf quality was launched in Hunan Agricultural University campus, and it is showed that the ? lawn had the highest score of 4.2, quality evaluation result shows distinction;there are 56% lawn are evaluationed credit;and intermediate accounting for 25%,?and ? is poor. The comprehensive score of these lawn were:?, ??, ??> ??,?>?>??> ?> ?> ?>?>?>?>?>?.Hunan Agricultural University campus' turf quality is uneven, and lack of high-quality lawn. Therefore, to promote the quality,we must choose grass to suit the local conditions, reasonably planning road to prevent excessive trampling,while strengthening fertilizer and water management,and improve the level of maintenance.
