Ground cover Chrysanthemum is a sort of perfect ground cover plants with many resistances.Characterized by low height of plants, strong growth potential, flamboyant flower color, strong ramification, and the crown is large and symmetrical. It widely used for the virescence in cities. But, the sensitivity of this cultivar to hight temperature and dehydration stresses have been the key factors limiting its cultivation in the north of China. The aiming of these experiments is to obtain new materials of ground cover chrysanthemum cultivars which are with great phenotype and multiple stress tolerance, and to provide theoretic basis and actual basis for breeding selection of new cultivars.6 transgenic lines plants potted that over-expression of AtDREBIA in chrysanthemum conferred strong tolerance to high temperature and drought intimidate were as materials and 'Wild Type'as check. Transgenic strains were propagated by tissue culture and treatment to dehydration in difference temperature condition. Researched the characterized of drought resistance and water saving ability of different chrysanthemum cultivars by mensurating physiological and formal indices related with drought tolerance. At last a comprehensive evaluation on drought tolerance and water saving ability of different cultivars were given according to variance analysis and subordinate function values analysis.The physiology of drought resistance research concluded seeds germination in different PEG concentration, membrane permeability under high temperature, water losing rate, leaf water saturation deficit, morphological wilting index, PHSI and DMSI index.Water use effective research included the ultimate water quantity, critical soil water contained and relative water content.The results indicated that, under dehydration physiological characteristic shows the wild type is different with the transgenic ones which carrying exogenous DREBIA gene. There are 5 transgenic cultivars better than'WT',and 3 of them significant difference.1 transgenic cultivar worse than'WT', but not significant.It verified that the Over-expression of AtDREBIA Gene on ground cover chrysanthemum could enhance the tolerance of high temperature and dehydration stresses.
