Ground-cover chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum×morifolium) is a new cultivar group of chrysanthemum, which is very low, winter-hardy and of great flower density. Apart from the ornamental value, some cultivars of ground-cover chrysanthemum are of great potable and medicinal value as well. Such as the cultivar’Beauty Face’, one of the most famous cultivar in Beijing, Dibei Chaju(ground-cover chrysanthemum for drinking) are these cultivars like’Beauty Face’that have medicinal value. However, the yield trial in recent years has proven that some defects of’Beauty Face’ have contributed a lot to the loss of flower grower. The main reason for the loss is because that the flowers’blooming season is too late so as to have the possibility to meet early frost, hence we will breed new cultivars flowering earlier. Crossbreeding and seed-breeding are chosen in this paper, the amount of general flavone and Chlorogenic Acid are tested and compared among the F1and11. A new evaluation system using Analytic Hierarchy Process is established for the evaluation of new cultivars of Dibei Chaju. In the autumn of2010, the author had hand-pollinated303flower heads (floret) and harvested371seeds afterwards; in the meantime,2507seeds were harvested with natural pollination. In the autumn of2011,98flowering plants were appearing after sowing. In order to select the cultivars with the highest medicinal value among9newly cultivated Dibei Chaju, ultraviolet spectrophotometer was used to get quantitative analysis of flaconoids and chlorogenic acid, comparison with traditional chrysanthemum teas Hangbai Ju and Gong Ju was made as well. With rutin and chlorogenic acid (standard) the author obtained standard curve of flaconoids and chlorogenic acid respectively as followers:y=0.0074x+0.0244and y=0.0979x+0.1085.The results showed that6Dibei Chaju cultivars contain more flavonoids and chlorogenic acid than Hangbai Ju and Gong Ju, the cultivar with the highest flaconoids content TY1contains more than thrice general flavones as much as Hangbai Ju, and more than twice chlorogenic acid content as much as Gong Ju. Hangbai Ju contains fewer chlorogenic acid compared with Gong, however, the flaconoids content between them is just the opposite. The flavonoids content of13samples, in descending order, was as follows:TY1, Unknown b, TY28, YY3, TY51, YSNX, Lukang Hangbai Ju, Xinhe Hangbai Ju, Taihang chrysanthemum, TY50, TYc, Gong Ju, YY63; similarly we got results of chlorogenic acid as follows:TYl, TY50, TY28, Taihang chrysanthemum, YY3, TYc, TY51, YSNX, Unknown b, Gong Ju, YY63, Xinhe Hangbai Ju, Lukang Hangbai Ju.An application of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach has been developed in this study for the evaluation of new cultivars of ground-cover chrysanthemum for drinking with a large number of criteria. Unlike the ornamental ground-cover chrysanthemum, Dibei Chaju is distinguished by its medicinal and drinkable values. In the AHP, relative weights of elements that share the same parent criteria were determined through16groups of pairwise comparisons, which made the consequences less likely to be influenced by other factors.
