Huidong County is high quality tobacco producing area in Liang shan State and it's annual growing area for Honghuadajinyua (hereinafter short for Hongda)is 0.1 million mu more. With the development of Chinese style cigarettes, the phenomenon of demand exceeds supply in flue-cured tobacco material for Hongda has appeared in recent years. According to the study on the relationship between Hongda quality and critical cultivation measures including different transplanting periods, fertilizer rate, planting density etc. in 2009~2010, key cultivation measures that would present style characteristic of Hongda were determined. These measures improved Hongda production level of Huidong tobacco-growing areas. The studies were as follows:1. Effect of different nitrogen rate on the yield and quality of honghuadajinyuanThe agronomy characters becomed better with the increasing of more nitrogen rate. The highest output was 2672.25 kg/hm2,while the nitrogen rate was 90 kg/hm2. It had the highest output,price, the highest high class leaf proportion and middle class leaf proportion,while the nitrogen rate was 75 kg/hm2. It got the best appearance quality of tobacco,while the nitrogen rate was between 75 kg/hm2 and 90 kg /hm2.The sugar-nicotine ratio, nitrogen-alkali ratio and potassium-chlorine ratio of nitrogen rate 75 kg /hm2 were reasonable. And it also had the highest score of Intrinsic quality of tobacco.On account of the appearance quality, economic character, chemical constituents and smoking quality, nitrogen rate 75 kg/hm2 was the best.2. Effect of different plant density on the yield and quality of honghuadajinyuanThe height,number of leaves,leaves area becomed smaller while the density turned more. The output increased,with the increasing of plant density. The highest output was 2254.23 kg/hm2,while the plant density was 120 cmx45 cm. The economic benefit.price, the highest class leaf proportion, the highest high class leaf proportion and middle class leaf proportion increased while the the density turned more.It had the highest class leaf proportion of plant, and the middle class leaf proportion, while the plant density was 120 cmx50cm.At the same time it had the best appearance quality of tobacco.The experimental result showed that the measures to obtain better appearance quality, economic character, chemical constituents and smoking quality, plant density 120 cmx50cm was the best.3. Effect of different topping stage on the yield and quality of honghuadajinyuanThe agronomy characters becomed better while the time of topping was late,but the biggest leaves turned smaller. It got the highest class leaf proportion of plant, and the middle class leaf proportion,economic benefit,price,while topping at flowering time. At that time, It got the highest yield and economic benefit,that was 2345.76 kg/hm2,28524.44yuan/hm2.Topping at flowering time,it had the best appearance quality of tobacco. The content of potassium decreased with the time of topping. It also had the highest score of Intrinsic quality of tobacco,while topping at flowering time.The experimental result showed the measures to obtain better appearance quality, economic character, chemical constituents and smoking quality, topping at flowering time best. In Huidong tobacco growing-area, the nitrogen rate of 75 kg/hm2, the plant density of 120cmx50cm, the topping stage at flower topping time,will get the best yield and quality of honghuadajinyuan. It provides a new way to improve the quality of tobacco. It can be used in tobacco production.
