Aoluguya Nationality Autonomous Township of Genhe city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is the only origin of reindeer in China. The number of reindeer is less than 1,000. The disease caused by Hypoderma diana is a common parasitosis in reindeer breeding industry. In the research, epidemiologic survey, pathological dissection and tests in oxidative stress capacity were adopted to study prevalence, occurrence regularity, drug prevention and the impact of oxidative stress level on the body of diseases in reindeer of Inner Mongolia. The results are as follows.1. Epidemiology. Calculated from the follow-up study for three years about reindeer at four hunting sites of Ewenki Nationality Autonomous Township, theraiding rates were 67.80%, 20.24%, 6.66% respectively, and 36.55% annual. The infection rates were 56.63%, 13.03%, 3.01% respectively, and the average infection rate was 22.42%. The average of infection intensity was 28 per reindeer, and the highest was 133. Adults of H. diana occur in early June every year, and the harm period of high-peak is June to August, and disappeared at the end of September or early October.2. Life-history. Larvaes hatched by eggs, drilled from hair follicles to subcutaneous tissue, through penetration of the loose connective tissue to reindeer metal-studded, and finally achieved the esophagus and fat tissue. Three months later, the first stage II larvaes were founded under serosa andmucosa of reindeers'esophagus. About five months later, they migrated to back front of of hypoderm, and drilled from the mucosa of canalis spinalis oresophagus to back and two sides of spinal canal. Thus stageâ…¢of larvaes were formed.3. Impact on the body. The contents of SOD, NO, ?OH and T-AOC in the serum of reindeer which of aoluguya area have been infected by the disease of werelower than the control groups significantly, which decreased by 37.41%, 24.72%, 50.36%, and 25.41% respectively. GSH-Px was lower than the control groups by 5.50%. The MDA content was much higher than the control groups by 40.70%. Increase in inflammatory level, decrease in antioxidation, and strengthened stress have showed in infected reindeer.4. Drug prevention. The killing rates of Hypoderma Diana by ivermectin, abamectin and Iodine denitration phenolic was 98.7%, 98.7% and 95% respectively. Ivermectin is the preferred drug to larvae of Hypoderma Diana.
