Natural dormancy plays an important role in the process of plant growing, carbohydrate displays significant effect to plant passing dormancy smoothly, then operating the next growing development. The paper firstly reviews the research progress about the carbohydrate and its relevant enzyme of the dormancy and its process, then, strong-growing and consistent-growing dormant Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok. were used from henan university of science and technology, the starting time and chilling requirement of dormant Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok were exploited in the paper. Our experiment time phase started from October 25, 2008 and finished on March 25, 2009, in this time phase, some part of the six Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok. were sampled on the 25th monthly, the sugar content measurement of the glucose, fruit sugar, isodulcitol, sorbitol, sucrose, total soluble sugars, starch and cellulose were made in this paper, which mainly contain three aspects, such as the xylem, bark and bud of the annual growing Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok.'s twig. Meanwhile, two parts (bark, bud) of the annual growing Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok.'s twig were token out in this paper and enzymatic activity relevant to sugar metabolism was measured, the enzyme of which has eight class and contain neutral invertase, acid invertase, sucrose phosphate synthase, sucrose synthase, sorbitol oxidase, sorbitol dehydrogenase,α-amylase andβ-amylase. The results are shown that:1. Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok. was planted in luoyang in 2008 and started paradormancy on september 5, started endodormancy on september 25, and the chilling requirement that Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok. removed dormancy was 288 hours.2. Combined with the measurement of field test and the indoor tissue culture was the best method to study Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok. about dormancy. 3. There is the highest content of starch existed in the process of the dormant Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok, the sucrose is higher and the isodulcitol is the lowest. However, the highest content of cellulose existed in the bark; the starch existed the highest in the xylem; and there is the lowest content of glucose and sorbitol existed in the bud.4. There is significant difference among the kinds of enzymic activity in the phase of the bark and bud of the dormant Cerasus humilis (Bge.) Sok, the AI,SOX activity of the bud is lower than the bark; however, the NI,SDN activity of the bud is higher than the bark.
