The paper studied the effects of different C/N ratio and organic matters on the growth and physiological and biochemical characteristics and quality of flue-cured tobacco by water culture experiments and pot experiments. The main results were as follows:1. By water culture experiments, different C/N ratio treatments could promote the growth of flue-cured tobacco, increase the content of leaves chlorophyll when C/N less than 0.5. The activities of nitrate reductase increased with increased of C/N ratio when C/N less than 0.5, but when the C/N more than 0.5, the activities of nitrate reductase was restrained, the activities of invertase and amylase of leaves reached the maximums when C/N0.5.2. The flue-cured tobacco N,K contents of different C/N ratio treatments increase and then decline with increased of C/N ratio, and the P content increases with increased of C/N ratio. The content of tobacco total sugar of all C/N ratio treatments was higher than CK. The reducing sugar reached the max. when C/N is 0.5, then C/N0.4 and 0.75 treatments, then C/N0.2 and 1.5 treatments.3. Different organic matters treatments (except starch treatment) could increase the content of leaves chlorophyll, sugar treatment and HA treatment were better among all treatments; In mature stage, different organic matters treatments could decline the content of leaves chlorophyll, the activities of nitrate reductase and invertase of leaves, the activities of amylase was more than flourishing growth stage. Different organic matters treatments could decrease the content of nicotine and starch in topper leaves and increase the content of total sugar and reducing sugar, the sugar treatment was the best treatment among all treatments. And sugar treatment and HA treatment could increase the K content of tobacco leaves.4. The sugar treatment was the best treatment on the aroma component total content in tobacco leaves, and the content of the aroma component was in the order of sugar treatment > HA treatment > starch treatment > CK > fiber treatment, and the kinds of preferential aroma matters of sugar treatment were the maximum, and then...
