The paper is on land suitability evaluation in Jiaozuo Huaiyao characteristic agricultural area.Firstly,it analyzed broadly the soil condition based on the result of the soil investigation in Huaiyao model planting area, evaluated primarily the quality of Huaiyao in comparation with the quality index of Huaiyao. Secondly,it set up the relative analysis between the quality of Huaiyao and the soil conditon,thus disclosed the soil index which influencing the quality of Huaiyao.In the process of land suitability evaluation on Huaiyao, it took soil specy as the evaluation unit, chose the evaluation factors by principal component analysis , then, caculated the weight of every index by AHP, worked out the synthesis index of land suitability for Huaiyao throngh index summation method.At last,it obtained suitability classification on huaiyao by the nearest neighbor methed of cluster analysis and protrated the map on evaluation grades.At last the evaluation result was applied to the formation of Huaiyao planting and the increase of the soil fertility,which offering the scientific basis to developing Huaiyao GAP base.The research result is:The area has a middle content of K, but the macro nutrient elements are low even short, the medium elements are rich ,the available Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, B contents are moderate and abundant;The mineral nutrient elements are never over-or-below basic necessities,the equilbruium status of nutrient elements is good; In comparing with SOP on Huaiyao, the content of heavy metal of Huaiyao in this area is never overleveled, The organic index of Huaiyao is high, the microelement Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn reach their criteria expet Zn in achyranthes bidentata. It is obvious that the heavy metal As is not overlevled as well as Pb is overlevled. The relative analysis between the quality index of Huaiyao and soil indicated that soil nvtrients in this area influence the diaoscorea opposita thunb and the rehmannia glutinosa but the quality of achyranthes bidentata is just the oppsite.The result of the Jiao-zuo characteristic agriculture area evaluation suitability is:for diaoscorea opposita thunb and rehmannia glutinosa, the top suitability area including three soil species is 57566.72 hectares, occupies 42.93% of total area.The second suititability area...
