On the condition that environmental pollution is increasingly serious and the petrified energy resources are gradually dry up, because anaerobic biological processing of wastewater has double functions that can decompose rejectamenta and supply desired energy supplies, people attach more and more importance to it. However at present there are so many unresolved problems, for example the low growth rate of anaerobic microorganism (especially the methanogens) and the low vitality of anaerobic sludge and so on that it is difficult for start-up of the anaerobic reactor. In order to quicken the start-up of anaerobic reactor, one of feasible methods adopted at present is to add additives, which can accelerate the physiological activity of anaerobic microorganism, into the anaerobic reactor. So we should select anaerobic fermentation additive with an eye to two aspects, one is that it can meet the nutritional demand of the anaerobic microorganism and speed up the physiological activity of anaerobic microorganism; the other is that the cost of the additive must be low in order to be applied to the practical project. With the rapid development of the earthworm breeding during recent years and more and more in-depth study on vermicompost, People find that vermicompost has characteristics as follows: granule, big per-surface, pH leaning to alkaline, containing much nutrition and rich microelement. All these aspects are advantageous for the adhesion and growth of anaerobic microorganism in the anaerobic reactor. But the research on the application of vermicompost in anaerobic biological processing is not only seldom but also absent systematization both at home and abroad. accordingly, the paper puts forward experimental study of vermicompost supplementation on anaerobic fermentation by the analysis of vermicompost's characteristics from physics and chemistry point of view and the anaerobic microorganism's demand of environment,In order to validate the feasibility, the paper is carried out through three aspects:(1) The effect of vermicompost on environment of anaerobic fermentation, especially the effect on pH.
