It is known to all that the petunia is popular for its big blossoms, bright colorand luxuriant growth. As a plant of great ornamental value, it can be widely utili-zed in decorating flower bed, scenic spots, windowsill, and family house. Petunia h-as become the potted flower and decorative plant in worldwide use. However, amo-ng the plant diseases and insect pests, aphida in particular is extremely harmful for the growth and propagation of petunia. It can not only lessen the ornamental valu-e of this plant, but also bring a bad influence on the production. Therefore, it will cause serious problemes such as rising production costs and prolonging culture pro-pagation cycle, which demands prompt solution.Through the experiment on plant hormone concentration, this research obtained the result that when the BA concentration is 1.0mg/L, NAA concentration is 1.0 mg/L, the highest reproduction rate for bud is produced. And the genetic transform-ational system of the single red flower petunia is optimized. On the basis of the o-ptimized genetic transformational system of petunia, the leaf-disk transformation inc-orporated by agrobacterium tumefaciens is adopted, transforming the GNA with anti-aphida effect into the petunia plant. After the preliminary selection of Kan, we get 29 anti-Kan regenerated plantlets. PCR test shows that 14 plantlets are positive, a-nd Southern blot results indicates that the target gene has been transformed into the petunia genome, and the regenerated plantlets transformed by GNA are obtained, t-hus bringing in certain progress.
