In this paper, four trials were carried out to study the utilization and digestion of different sources dietary fiber in Yangzhou Goose. Metabolic trial, feeding trial, slaughter trial and digestive trial in vitro were accomplished respectively in order to study the feasibility of application of acid-insoluble ash(AIA) indicator in geese, effects of different sources dietary fiber on growth performance, accumulative digestibility of different sources dietary fiber in different intestines and the utilization of dietary fiber in vitro by the microbes from the ileum, cecum and rectum. The results showed:1. As a result of the dynamic alternation of gravels in the gizzard of the goose fed freely in the fields, AIA indicator can not be used directly. After being kept away from the gravels for 25 days, there were 1355 gravels in the gizzard, but there was no gravels in other place of the alimentary tract, when AIA indicator can be applied. The AIA content and recovery in groups with corn, soybean and wheat-bran was very low, and the AIA method should not be used directly. The AIA content in groups with alfalfa, paddy and corn-soybean-alfalfa was high, and the recovery was 98.20%, 102.36% and 91.65% respectively, and therefore, the AIA method can be used. In the trial of the examination of the intestine accumulative digestibility, this method was not applicable directly because the chyme weight in the intestines was not enough to analyze AIA content.2. When dietary component and dietary nutrient ingredient was near, there was not significant effect on the body weight gain of different sources fiber, while there was significant effect on some indexes of body measurement and the development of the gizzard and cecum, and there was also significant effect on serum T3 content. The feed intake and the body weight of the mixed fiber source group was higher than those of the single ones. In the production practice, the mixed source fiber should be used in order to gain more achievements.
