The working methods and principles of the ditching machine coming from home and abroad are analyzed and compared in this paper. By combining the present planting style of rape in the southern area of our country and the large scale usage of small rotary cultivation machine, the advantages and disadvantages of ditching mode between former and post-position are compared. Finally, the ditching components of disc pattern are designed by adopting the post-position to realize the mechanization of ditching in rape planting.By analyzing and researching the basic theory of the rotary cultivator, we chose the veer rotary of ditching mode and decided the parameters such as the diameter size of the tray, the number and type of the ditching reamer, the contracture of the tray. At the same time, the ditching shovel is installed so that the back casting is changed to up casting. The unevenness of the channel bottom is also eliminated. Setting is baffle to satisfy the need of operation security and the coefficient of the broken soil. The adjustable trail wheel is fixed to increase the comfort and operation simplicity.Mathematics model of the cutting and casting of rotary tillage is made by Kinematics dynamics analysis on the course of rotary tillage. Moreover, with the use of mat lab 6.0, parameter is gained which affect the distance of landscape orientation soil casting.Based on theoretic research, rotary-ditch machine is produced and orthogonal test is carried out in the farm. By variance and extreme deviation analysis on the test result, all the influence factors on ditcher casting performance are gained, superior level and optimum combination are found out, relation curve of performance target along with factor change is provided. Test shows: the rotate speed of tray 270 round per minute, A type installation, working in the first gear, the clearance of the ditching shovel 1.5 cm. The performance of the ditching and soil casting is best on this condition. The result of the experiment is: the distance of landscape orientation soil casting is 1.15 m, the coefficient of the broken soil is 91% and the stability coefficient of landscape orientation soil casting is 90%.At last, the adaptability experiment is carried out on the rotary ditching components to the soil condition.
