Water is the main component of crop.Lack of water would disbennifit the growth of crop,which not only decreases the yield but also make the quality of crop low.This even leads to yield nothing when it is serious.So sufficient irrigation is very important to farming. Body's moisture content is a kind of important information of crop in the growth and can intuitively represent moisture content status of crop.Taditional irrigation,flooding, does not make use of moisture content of crop body and supply same water to all crop bodies of different moisture content.The water resource is not used effectively.Non-touched,non-destroyed and dynamic capture of moisture content of crop is very important to improve the efficiency of water using.Body's color of crop would change with physiological status.For this it is feasible for us to conclude moisture content of crop body through images captured by computer.In order to make moisture content of different crop bodies to be different, crop is planted in plastic dish in green house and irrigated differently,and visible light image of crop body is captured.Crop body is much different to the environment in ratio image of G Component to R Component of crop body RGB image.With this characteristic, thresholding is applied to detect crop body.Six color characteristics,red component Re, green component Ge,blue component Be,GR(Ge/Re),GB(Ge/Be) and RB(Re/Be),are obtained from crop body RGB image after elimination of the effect of brightness and crop body's area by normalizing and averaging color component.Analysis of the correlations between the six color characteristics and dry-basis body moisture content Rg is done and determination model of Rg is established.The study shows that the correlations between Ge,GR,GB and Rg are more remarkable in three period of paddy FENGLIANGYOU1 and one period of paddy WUYUJING5,corn XUNDAN18,corn KENNIAN1.Ge is the steadiest characteristic.The ralation between Ge and Rg is remarkable parabola.The value of Ge changes consistently with Rg and can be used to determine Rg.Determination models of dry-basis body moisture content Rg and body moisture lack ratio Lr are established base on the image information resource Ge.Analysis to the relations of three period of FENGLIANGYOU1 and different crop is done.To sum up,the study applies visible light image of crop body to determine body moisture content, put forward the algorith to detect crop body by ratio image of G Component to R Component of crop body RGB image, analyses the correlations between six color characteristics and dry-basis body moisture content Rg and estalishes determination models of dry-basis body moisture content Rg and body moisture lack ratio Lr.
