Objective: High Performance Liquid Chromatography method wasestablished to study the pharmacokinetics of Rhubarb in healthy grass carp after oral administration. Methods:36 healthy grass carps were randomly divided into three groups and given Rhubarb decoction at the dose of 3, 5, 7g/kg · b · w by oral administration, respectively. The plasma concentrations of rhein and emodin were quantified by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) assay. The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by 3p97 PK program. Results: The absorption, distribution and elimination of rhein and emodin in plasma were both fit one-compartment model with 1st order absorption (weight=1/C2).
