Studies On Tourism Application And Rhododendron Resource Investigation In Baili Rhododendron National Forest Park

Baili Rhododendron National Forest Park is one of the two national forest parks founded earliest in Guizhou province. The main body of the park-Baili Rhododendron Forest (Baili means Hundreds of square kilometer in Chinese) is the largest one of the so far founded wild Rhododendron Forests at the same latitude in the middle and low altitude area in the earth. It's a scarce forest eco-system and Rhododendron gene pool of germ plasm, which is worth of special protection. Not only is it of great value in scientific research but also in tourism area. Resources protection and Recreation experience are the two worldwide hotspots in forest park theoretic researches. In the meanwhile, they are the foundations to realize the ecological, social and economical value of the forest park itself. Although the Baili National Forest Park has been founded more than ten years, the studies no matter in the Rhododendron resource or the tourism development are terribly lack of.This studies focus on the Rhododendron resource and tourism development of the Baili Rhododendron National Forest Park. Three spot investigations has been conducted in Mar. 2004, Mar.2005 and Mar. 2006,to accomplish the studies of Rhododendron germ plasm, population actuality, survey of tourism development and tourist market research. Based on the integrated investigations, combined the quality and quantity research methods, this research sorted through the quantities, characters and distributing status of the Rhododendron germ plasm resources in Baili Rhododendron National Forest Park, from macro- and middle-scopic view. It analyzed the life-force and reproduction status of Rhododendron communities, with the discussion of the existed problems in the park tourism developing, and the characters and demands of the tourist market. Also, rooted in above studies, it calculated the tourism environmental carrying capacity of the park and discussed how to expand the capacity of the park. The main conclusions are as following:(1) The Rhododendron in Baili Rhododendron National Forest Park are Species-rich with an amplitude distribution. There are 10 familiar species of Rhododendron.
