Deoxypodophyllo toxin belongs to lignans, it mainly exists in some plants such as vivacious herbaceous group of Podophylloideae Dysosma, Sinopodophyllum, Diphylleia, Podophyllum in Berberidaceae. Deoxypodophyllo toxin was extracted from non-essential oils of Sabina vulgris Ant. by the Research and Development Center of Biorational Pesticide of NWSUAF. From the facts of poisoning symptom, histology, physiology, This paper studied effects of Deoxypodophyllo toxin on endocrine systems in Mythimna Separate and explored the mechanism of its growth and development inhibition by light microscope, transmission electron microscope and HPLC, The main results are as follows:1 The result of M. Separate toxic symptoms caused Deoxypodophyllo toxin: Deoxypodophyllo toxin had obvious gowth inhibition function to larval of M. Separate. Treated Larvae grew slowly. Lerval period of treated larval and prepuper prolonged obviously, but lerval period of puper did not obviously change. Head width of around 30% of 6th-instar test insect was smaller obviously than control, and they form super instar. However, head width of super instar was bigger obviously than 6th-instar of control. They all can pupation and enmergence, but deformed pupae and adult rate were higher. Otherwise 65% of treated test insect can not occur super instar, but The rate of deformed pupae and adult that they brought respectively were 84. 62%和44. 44%. 5% of the rest treated test larvae died from abnormal exuviation.2 The result of microstructrution watching of endocrine gland pathology change: Treated prothoracic gland occurred apparent pathology change. Cell number dyed was few relatively. Cell grow slow. Its size was not equality, and smaller than normal one of the same development phase. Cell gap grew bigger than control and Shrink gradually. Cell boundary was obscure. Prothoracic gland of day 2 super instar prepupae form a mass, and show degeneration state. Vulume and structrution of Brain, corpora allatum and corpus cardiacum of Treated test insect did not changed apparently.3 The result of ultrastructure watching of prothoracic gland pathology change: Tracheole bordering Prothoracic gland, Prothoracic gland cell basilar membrane, intercellular space, Mitochondria, nucleus, nuclear membrane heterchromosome, Membranous tissue have been destroyed in different degree. Larger and more Lysosomes occurred in cell, and the phenomenon showed that cell went to death.
