loblolly pine, native to United States, grows rapidly and its wood property is good, which is the most important tree seeds among south pines. Though the introduction and planting several decades, it becomes one of the important tree seeds using on papermaking, building and plywood in south of china. Its wood property relating to the planting environment has significant geographical variation tendency, the differences of wood property in different producing areas are large, which brings about unfavorable affects on oriented cultivating and utilizing wood resources reasonably. Utilizing wood reasonably bases on wood property, its variation patterns provide the important scientific signification on oriented cultivating and improving wood property. Henan province is the northern regions which loblolly pine provenances are largly introduced to, and its wood properties of plantations are not studied. The variation patterns of tree growth pattern, wood anatomical characteristic(tracheid morphological features, microfibrillar angle), basic density and chemical components were studied in this paper, and the correlation of them was also investigated, which provide the scientific basis for establishing genetic improvement strategy of growth and wood properties and, improving the productivity level in loblolly pine grown in china, The main results were as follows:From pith to bark, annual ring width increases rapidly from the 1st year to the 3 rd year, and decreases from the 4th year to the 8th year after reaching the maximum at the 3 rd year, then becomes wider at the 9th year and decreases gradually after the 9th year for the changes of environments. The correlation pattern between annual ring width and tree ages is expressed with a six polynomial equation, which is significant at 0.01 levels.The latewood percentage of loblolly pine increases rapidly before the 8th year, and its value range is between 4.57% and 31.84%, then increases fluctuantly from the 8th year to the 10th year and levels off gradually after the 10th year.The growth increment of height, diameter at breast height (DBH) and trunk volume decreases subsequently after increasing: The fast-growing period of height is between the 2nd year and the 3rd year, afterward it decreases gradually and then levels off after the 8th year. The maximum of the current annual increment(CAI) is 1.57m; The mean annual increment(MAI) increases slowly...
