The data of this study is from hybrid cotton evaluation test in Henan province in the years of 1999-2004. Thirty five crosses with high yield heterosis performance were selected to analysis the relation among the yield and main yield components by correlation and stepwise regressions methods using DPS software. The analysis were also applied for four special hybrids that had already been released. The results showed that: without consideration of interaction, the direct contribution effects to yield of the four yield components were in the following order, plant density > boll number >lint percentage>boll weight; but the total effect order was: boll number > lint percentage > plant density > boll weight. The general trend was consistent except the plant density.Considering the interacton, the contribution effects to yield of the four yield components and the interactions were in the following order, density×boll number> boll number×lint percentage > boll number×boll weight> boll number. The great interaction existed among the yield components reseached. Therefore, effort to raise the boll numbers is more important, as well as the lint percentage and boll weight improvement in hybrid cotton breeding."Biaoza A2" is an unusual hybrid, which grows sturdy, have higher boll numbers per plant and boll weight. So reasonable sparse plant density should be recommended for the high yield cultivation. But boll weight of"Yuza 35" is small, the lint percentage is high, boll getting capability is strong, then the reasonable dense planting should be adopted to acquire the higher production.Boll setting capability and boll weight of the "Aosi 4101" contribute more greatly to the yield, but the main contributions components of "Huaza 310" are Boll getting capability and lint percentage. As a general, boll number usually has high midparent or competitive heterosis, the boll weight has middle heterosis, but there is have no midparent heterosis in lint percentage. As a result, the only choice of parents with big boll weight and high lint percentage could improve these traits in F1 hybrid in cotton breeding, as well as the consideration of the general and specific combining ability. The coordination of the yield components should be specially noted because of the big interaction. The suitable boll weight of the hybrid variety cotton should be between 5 to 6.5g, and with thinner boll carapace; the lint percentage should be around 40 or above.
