Field experiments were carried out in Nanjing in 2007.Two cotton parental combinations were used as study materials,design two cultivation way of single-stem and double-stem as treatments,study on yield components and formation mechanism of yield and quality of hybrid seed production in cotton with double-stem cultivation way.The main results were as follows:1.The yield of double-stem cultivation way was higher than that of single-stem cultivation way.The quality of hybrid seedl met highclass required by National Standard GB 15671-1995.In this experiment,the hybrid seed yield of 3S and 8S was higher 44.66%and 30.98% separately than that of 3D and 8D,both are remarkable lever.It showed on the superiority of boll quantity.The quantity of hybridization boll setting of 3S and 8S was higher 55.56% and 37.10%separately than that of 3D and 8D,both are remarkable lever.There was no significant difference between the value seed quality indexes(including seed index,percentage of immature seed,fat content,protein content,germination energy, percentage of germination,germination index,vigor index) of double-stem cotton and that of single-stem cotton by two cotton parental combination in the inside boll.Hybrid seed production in cotton is feasible by double-stem cultivation way.2 Cotton show the mass of boll-setting effect by double-stem cultivation.Efficiency of hybrid seed production of double-stem cultivation is higher than that of single-stem cultivation.Compared with the single-stem cotton,the time of florescence was concentrated,and we can Concentrate hour to produce hybrid seeds.In the square-emerging fastigium,the average square-emerging intensity of double-stem cotton is 10.1×104 buds·hm-2·d-1 and 10.5×104 buds·hm·-2·d-1.The number of available fruit nodes of double-stem cotton is larger that of double-stem cotton.The number of 3D and that of 8D is 255.6×104 fruit-nodes·hm-2 and 261.4×104 fruit-nodes·hm-2 separately,they were both higher obviously than that of the single-stem cotton.In the best temperature and solar radiation season,the average intensity of boll-setting of double-stem cotton is highter than that of single-stem cotton.The boll ratio of hybridized combination was high by double-stem cultivation way to produce hybrid seed.The boll ratio of hybridized combination was 37.04%and 33.08%by double-stem cultivation way to produce hybrid seed,respectively,which is higher 6.47%and 3.11%than that of single-stem cultivation.Dry matter accumulation quality of the hybrid seed of different treatment was no significant difference in the same position of plant,so dose the result in the same blooming stage.The final crude fat content was no significant difference in the same position of the plant,so dose the result in the same blooming stage.3.Use efficiency of temperature and solar radiation meteorological factors of double-stem cultivation is higher than that of single-stem cultivation.When plant-density is 2.50×104 plant·hm-2,Light use efficiency of single-stem cultivation way is 8.30×10-8 g·J-1 and 8.52×10-8 g·J-1;Light use efficiency of double-stem cultivation way is 1.18×10-7 g·J-1 and 1.10×10-7 g·J-1,and it is higher 42.37%and 29.31% than those of single-stem cultivation way,respectively.In hot seasonal boll and early autumn boll,light use efficiency of economic yield of double-stem cultivation is higer than that of single-stem cultivation.Light use efficiency of seed-cotton yield of 3D and that of 8D is 1.74×10-7 g·J-1 and 1.59×10-7 g·J-1,is higher 56.46%and 45.56%than than those of single-stem cultivation way,respectively.Light efficiency of single-boll of double-stem cultivation way show that it increased first and decreased afterwards with enthesis delaying,so dose the effective accumulated temperature(≥15℃) and the total effective solar radiation.There was a positive correlation between economic yield of single-boll and effective accumulated temperature(≥15℃). From the point of view of the high yield,high quality and high efficiency,we should increase the quantity and proportion of hybrid boll in which is effective accumulated temperature(≥15℃) is max during development.
