Using the method of"random sampling in typical colonies of the central area of the habitat", the genetic variations within and relationships among populations of LuXi cattle, Bohai Black cattle, MinNan cattle, Yak., Buffalo and Holstein cattle were examined, and the genetic differentiation was explored.High polymorphism was detected in 9 loci except IDVGA-11(low polymorphism), IDVGA-55 and TGLA-73(moderate polymorphism loci). The average allele number detected over loci for each population was 11.9; the average of heterozygosity and the average polymorphism information content (PIC) was 0.6086 and 0.5714, respectively. The average allele number detected over loci for each population was 4.92~7.75 and the average heterozygosity over loci for each population was 0.4903~0.6551. The gene diversity of total populations at all microsatellite loci was 0.7979; the gene diversity in every population at all microsatellite loci was 0.6081; the coefficient of gene differentiation was 0.2379. The phylogenies...
