With high quality rice varieties as material, a serials experiment about chief cultivation measures including variety section, transplanting leaf age, planting density,N fertilizer level and N-application were carried out to study their effects on the productivity of mechanical transplanted rice during 2005-2006, at Jiangyan, Jiangsu proving. The results were as flowing:1. In middle area of Jiangsu proving along the Yangzi river, early maturing late Japonica Ningjing 1,Wuxiangjing 14 and late maturing medium Japonica Yangfujing 7 all can achieve high yield level at 650kg/667m~2 using as mechanical transplanted rice. The three varieties has different fertilizer requiring features, in this condition, rice Ningjing 1 represented high fertilizer requiring feature and endure reaction. Wuxiangjing 14 and Yangfujing 7 achieved their highest yield at the fertilizer level of 20kg N per 667m~2, when Ningjing 1 needed 22.5kg N per 667m~2. Wuxiangjing 14 had greater maximum yield than Ningjing 1, and Yangfujing 7 got the lowest maximum yield in all treatments. Improving spikes per 667m~2 and grains per spike is a chief approach to increase production, and the latter plays more directly importance. It indicates that varieties with bigger spike are easier to get high yield level in mechanical transplanted condition.2. With early maturing late Japonica Ningjing 1 as test material, colony stems development, rice plant type,N uptake and utilization, dry matter production and accumulates, grain yield constitutes and rice quality were considered to study the effects on the productivity of mechanical transplanted rice of different transplanting leaf age and N-application. The result was: treatment had significant superiority at those facets upwards, which seedlings transplanted 18 days after be sown and N-fertilizer applied equally at the stages of remaining primordial leaf number 4,3. Though N-fertilizer applied at the stages of remaining primordial leaf number 5,4 could get more grain yield as seedlings was transplanted at the age of 24 days, the yield diversity between the two transplanting age was also significant.3. Feasible transplanting leaf age and planting density do great contribution to the high yield of mechanical transplanted rice. In this experiment, the treatment that seedlings at the age 18 days transplanted 1.67×10~4 hills per 667m2 and 3 seedlings per hole showed significant superiority at colony stems development, rice plant type,N uptake and utilization and some other colony quality index.,and those superiorities finally brought up the increase on grain yield. When the transplanting age delay to 22 and 26 days, the planting density needed to add to 4 seedlings per hole to get their highest yield level and the maximum yield are significantly lower than the treatment upwards. It can indicate from results of these experiments that one radical character of high yield rice is the colony has enough spikelets, and it is practical to increase the number of spikes per 667m2 and grains per spike by heightening the dry matter accumulates before heading stage. In this experiment, selecting variety with big spike, transplanting seedlings at the age of 18 days and in the density of 1.67×10~4 hills per 667m~2, 3 seedlings per hole, applying N-fertilizer 20-22.5 per 667m2 with the ratio of basic and tiller fertilizer and spike fertilizer being 6:4 and N-fertilizer applied equally at the stages of remaining primordial leaf number 4,3, is propitious to realize high yield and good quality.
