The materials of this article are A-line and Chinese White pigeons . Mainly studied the genetic diversity and the correlation between RAPD bands and the carcass traits by using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA(RAPD) markers. The fit PCR experimental system was set up which could get the stably result; Eleven highly polymorphic and reproducible arbitrary primers were selected for RAPD analysis from total 40 random primers. And all the template DNA were amplified. Result suggested: In the two pigeon groups 86 and 85 markers were found respectively, and the polymorphic bands were 67 and 65, the polymorphic frequency were 77.91% and 76.47%, average per primer produced 6.09 and 5.91 markers respectively. That means RAPD markers had high efficiency of checkout; The mean band frequency of RAPD primers was 0.60-0.63 in two groups. The similarity in heredity varied from 0.4509-0.7080 between the two populations. The above results indicated that there was certain difference in the DNA level between the A-line and Chinese White pigeons; Half eviscerated weight(HEW) and Eviscerated weight(EW) were significant differences with the Live weight(LW),Dressed weight(DW), Heart weight(H1W), Head weight(HW), Shank weight(SW) and the weight of breast muscle(WBM), that means HE and HEW could be selected by measuring these correlated traits; There were 28 and 30 significant markers in the 804 and 780 RAPD marker-traits through the T-test. Verified by the analysis of phenotypic correlation between traits and the regularity of phenotypic value distribution, the number of reliable markers associated with carcass traits were 5 in the two populations, AK07.5- WMS,SJ14.2-LW(in A-Line) and AK06.3-DW (in Chinese White) represent increase effect; AK10.1- EW and AK15.7-WBM (in Chinese White ) stand for decrease effect.
