The study evaluated the effects of the antigen to pigs' humoral and cellular immune responses and growth performance when using different antigen adjuvant and doses. The results of humoral immunity indicated that after the first immunifaction, antibody level of immunized pigs rose up quickly, the average OD value was 0. 58, then decreased with time;and after the second inoculation, the average OD value of immunized pigs kept more than 0.60 for a long time , while that of the control pigs' maintained 0.46 during this period. It suggested that the antigen has good characteristic of immunogenicity. However, the effects of humoral immune responses had no difference induced by different antigen concentration, and fluctuation of the antibody levels were similar; and there was some slight difference when using different antigen adjuvant , the antibody level decreased more slowly induced by water-in-oil emulsion-adjuvant antigen than by alhydrogel-antigen antigen, which displayed slow-release and lasting characteristic of the former. An experiment about the effect of the antigen on transformation of pig peripheral blood lymphocytes indicated that the lymphocyte transformation rate of immunized pigs(35.8%) was significantly higher than control pigs(23. 58%)after immunifaction, which confirmed the antigen's enhancement to organismal cellular immune responses;however the transformation rates have no difference when antigen adjuvant and antigen concentration were changed.Meanwhile, the control group's growth performance was better than immunized group' (P<0. 05) during total experiment period, and alhydrogel-antigen group better than water-in-oil-an t i gen group(P>0. 05).The second study investigated the role of immunizing intramuscularly on immune response of lung mucosal immune system. We discovered that lung washing fluid from...
