In order to serving to introducing Abies concolor successfully, several index representing the ability to resist cold and drought was surveyed, in simulated condition of cold and drought, using six months old seeding of nine provenances of Abies concolor, and three species of domestic firs: Abies holophylla, Abies fabric and Abies squamata Mast. Then the results were contrasted and analyzed for speculating the area fit for Abies concolor to live in.According as the results of cold resistance survey, Abies holophylla has the strongest cold resistance. The cold resistance of No. 4 and No. 5 Abies concolor is close to the one of Abies holophylla, therefore they could be speculated to introduce to the area Abies holophylla distributing in. The cold resistance of No.3, No.6, No.7 and No.8 provenances of Abies concolor is a little weaker than the one of No. 4 and No. 5, and these provenances could be introduced into the area warmer than that Abies holophylla distributing in. The cold resistance of No.1, No.2 and No.9 provenances of Abies concolor is close to the one of Abies fabric that has the weakest cold resistance during these provenances, so they could be introduced into the area like the one Abies fabric distributing in.According as the results of drought resistance survey, Abies squamata Mast has strong drought resistance, and No.4 provenance of Abies concolor has almost equal strong drought resistance. The result of clustering analyze told us, the drought resistance of No.1, No.5, No6 and No.8 provenances of Abies concolor and Abies holophylla is close to the one of Abies squamata Mast, therefore the appropriate area these four provenances and No.4 provenances Abies concolor can be speculated to be the area with equal or wettisher drought condition like the one Abies squamata Mast distributing in. The drought resistance of No.2 and No.3 provenances of Abies concolor is weaker, and these two provenances can be introduced into the wettisher area. The drought resistance of No.7 and No.9 provenances of Abies concolo is close to the one of Abies fabric that has the weakest drought resistance during these provenances, so they could be introduced into the area like the one Abies fabric distributing in.
