A series of experiments such as artificial rearing, cultivation and parent-fish cultivation of Nibea japonica were conducted in Xishan farm, Zhejiang Marine fisheries research institute, the main results were as followed:1. The artificial rearing technique of Nibea japonicaTotal 1.2×10~6 imported fertilization eggs of Nibea japonica were hatched under the condition of 18.0℃ water temperature, 29.9 of salinity, 6.5~7.9mg/L of dissolved oxygen and 8.0 of pH , and getting the number of larvae were 99.6×10~4 . After 40d cultivation, the number of juvenile fish with average total length 2.2~4.0cm were 50.03×10~4 , and the survival rate was 41.7%.2. The cultivation technique of Nibea japonicaThe cultivation experiments were undertaken including of seawater pond culture, net cage culture, over wintering and parent-fish culture of Nibea japonica. The mainresults were as followed: (1) Nibea japonica individuality average body length reached at 31.1 cm, average body weight reached at 515.0g , and the survival rate was 82.85% after seawater pond culture for 5.5 months. (2) Nibea japonica individuality average body length reached at 28.1 cm, average body weight reached at 438.8g, and the survival rate was 81.66% after net cage culture for 5.5 months. (3) The culture limit temperature of Nibea japonica was 5.5-6.0℃. (4) The parent-fish of Nibea japonica individuality average body length reached at 54.0cm and average body weight reached at 2700.0g after seawater pond culture for 25 months.
