Musk deer (Moschus spp.) is not only protected as an endangered animal under the Wild Animal Protection Law as Category I in China, but also classed as one of the most valued economic animals in china for its use as an ingredient in traditional Chinese and Korean medicine. Although musk deer has been captured and farmed for about fifty years in China, the number of its population and the treatments of difficult diseases, which both relationed with bacteria infectious diseases, have not improved much. Among the several species of musk deer, Forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) is the most sucessfully farmed and breeded one, which has with the most population, the most skilled experencs and the most reported articles. Therefore the breeding and conservation of forest musk deer are valued very much. IL-2 is produced primarily by activated CD4~+ T cells with cross species reactivity. Immune functions of IL-2 are various, for instance, survival and expansion of antigen-activated T cells, regulation of cytokine secretion, promoting of thymic development and the peripheral expansion of CD4~+CD25~+ regulatory T cells. For these reasons, delivery or co-delivery of IL-2 with vaccines can promote the immune responses against various infections. So, as for treating bacteria infectious diseases and improving the immune responses against various diseases for forest musk deer, the IL-2 gene was cloned, analyzed and expressed from forest musk deer.
