Analysis Of Extension Effect Of Standardized Raising Technique Of Hybrid Chicken From Chicken And Layer Breed In Wuwei, Gansu Province

Summary: Extension of standardized raising technique of hybrid chicken from chicken and layer breed is a development trend of rural chicken industry in Wuwei, Gansu province. Major results from this project are as follows: 1. Ten standardized hybrid chicken raising demonstration areas were established and this contributed to the development of local chicken industry. There were 56 farmers on a small scale in each demonstration area. Five hundred to 600 hybrid chickens from chicken and layer breed were raised in batch and 4000-5000 hybrid chickens were marketed each year by one farmer. 2. Body weight gain contrast test using cross with ISA layer and two broiler breeds, Avain and Anak, were conducted. The result showed that the average body weight of hybrid chicken using Anak at 90 day-old was 2.25 kg, and that using Avain at 90 day-old was 2.35kg. Hybrid chicken using Avain (white hybrid chicken) is a preferable chicken breed in rural area in Wuwei. 3. Three chicken industrialization management patterns including "company + farmer", "association + farmer" and "professional administrative organization + farmer" were used, which promotes production of the hybrid chicken on a large scale. 4. By popularizing standardized raising technique of hybrid chicken in farmer raising on a large scale, many productive indexes were improved than that before the technique being popularized The average survival rate of one-week-old chick and that of ten-week-old chicken was 95.6% and 95.3%, respectively, which increased 2.1 centesimal point and 3 centesimal point comparing with 93.5% and 92.3% before the technique being popularized, respectively; The average body weight of hybrid chicken at 90 day-old was 2.3 kg, with a increase of 0.3 kg than that before. The meat-feed ratio was 2.8: 1, with a decrease of 0.2 than 3.0: 1 before. The net income from 500 hybrid chickens in a productive cycle was 1522.9 yuan, increasing 342.3 yuan than 1180.6 yuan before. 5. Under current conditions in rural areas, the proper raising size of the hybrid chicken should be 500～600, the optimal market time of the hybrid chicken should be 80 day-old, and the optimal market body weight should be 2 kg.
