The tests were conducted in 2005-2007 in the forest areas of Yaofeng village in Fuqing country and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fujian Province. The characteristic and growth conditions of 28 Masson pine families damaged by Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi was observated. The variation of some secondary metabolites and their nutrion substance in needles of Masson pine families with different injured level degree were tested. The main results were summarized as follows:1.According to injured degree, 28 Masson pine families is divided into five grades. The grade I, namely 330, 386, 318, 246, 465, 662, CK1, 232, difficultly suffered the violation of Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi. The gradeⅡ, namely 439, 458, 469, were easily damaged. The gradeⅣ(588, 329, 772,478,388) , gradeⅤ(90, 341, 155, 391, 402, 350) , gradeⅢ(545, 1, 675, 390, 502, 586) became more seriously damaged by Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi as the gradation.2.The growth status of 28 Masson pine families damaged by Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi can divide into three grades. The first grade of Masson pine families, namely 330, 341, CK1, 502, 1, 388, 662, 246, 458, 469, 386, growed best. The second grade of Masson pine families, namely 588, 232, 90, 402, 465, 155, growed wore. The third grade of Masson pine families, namely 545, 391, 318, 390,439, 675, 478, 329, 772, 586, 350, growed worst. So Masson pine families i.e. 330,386,246,662,CK1 were sleceted as the better families resisting infraction of Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi.3.The flavone content in gradeⅠwas higher than that in gradeⅡ. There was the negative correlation between the injured degree and the content. Compared with the healthy Masson pine families, all the contents of flavone in needles had increased tendency and the ones damaged difficultly had more increase than the damaged easily. It showed that the change of flavone contents was the chemical reaction in Masson pine families after the tree suffered injury.4.The tannin and phenolic compounds content in gradeⅠwas higher than that in gradeⅡ. Compared with the healthy Masson pine families, the content of two secondary metabolites had both increased tendency and the ones damaged difficultly had more increase than the damaged easily. But the contents had not correlation with injured degree. It showed that the content of two secondary had not effect on aggrieve activity of Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi.5.The content of soluble sugars and total sugars in gradeⅠwas higher than that that in gradeⅡ. Compared with the healthy Masson pine families, the content of two nutrition substance had both depressed tendency and the decrement of two nutrition substance in needles of Masson pine families damaged difficultly was more than the ones damaged easily. But the contents had not correlation with injured degree. So the two nutrition substance had no influence in the aggressive active of Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi to Masson pine families.
