The adaptability of adult Chinese soft-shelled turtle(Pelodiscus sinensis) to low protein level diets was studied in this essay.Juvenlie Chinese soft-shelled turtle(lighter than 50g)were fed with 43% and 33% protein diets in two treatments,when they grown up to young Chinese soft-shelled turtle(heavier than 50g), the each former treatment was divided into two groups,fed with 43% and 33% protein diets randomly.The experiment was made up of two periods,30 days respectively,in the first period , each group during the young Chinese soft-shelled turtle was divided the into two treatments fed with 43%,33%and 29% protein diets,as it like this ,the fomer treatment fed with 43% protein was divided into two treatments,one fed with 43% protein diets ,the other one fed with 33% protein diets; the fomer treatment fed with 33% protein was divided into two treatments,one fed with 33% protein diets ,the other one fed with 29% protein diets,8 treatments in all.The second period kept on feeding as the first period.The main results were as follows:1.In the fist period of the experiment,the feed intake rate(FR) was affected significantly,also to the feed coefficient(FC),there was no significant difference found in(PER) among those treatments.In the second period,the anova analysis showed that the FR and FC had got significant difference among treatments,significant difference was found in PER.Compare the FR of the former four treatments and the after four treatments in the two periods(compare treatment 1 to treatment 5,others are like this),except treatment 2 and treatment 6,the treatments which took the 33% protein diet when they were juvenile got higher FE than the treatments which took the 43% protein diet ,we could infer that the treatments which took lower protein content can advance the FR to adult turtles.The FC of the treatments which took 29% pritein diets descend in the second period compare to the first period,we can conclude that after one month feeding,the treatments took the 29% protein diet got some adaptabilityto the diet,in the second period every close treatments(compare treatment 1 to treatment 2,others are like this),the results showed that the PER of the treatments fed with 33% protein diets were higher than the treatments fed with 43% protein diets,the treatments lift the utilize ability to the diet,but the regularation didn't appear in the first period,it showed that the adaptability to low protein diets of adult turtles exist,and it needs a period.2.In the first period,the ratio in weigh was significantly affected by protein level,but the special growth rate(SGR) was not significantly affected.In The second period, the ratio in weigh was significantly affected by protein level, SGR was not significantly affected.The seventh treatment got only the biggest SGR in the first period,but got both the biggest the ratio in weigh and the biggest SGR,got the best growth performance of the eight treatments.This showed that kept taking fit low protein diets for a long time could creat adaptability to turtles when they grown up,it also showed that the adaptability could be a long period.Compare the SGR of the former four treatments and the after four treatments in the two periods,except treatment 3 were higher than treatment 7 in the first period,and treatment 7 was higher in the second period,the treatments which took the 33% protein diet got higher SGR than the treatments which took the 43% protein diet when they were juvenile,we could infer that the treatments which took lower protein content can advance the growth to adult turtles.3.In the first period,the apparent coefficient(ADC) of dry matter,crude protein, carbohydrate and energy was affected significantly by protein level,but the ADC of crude lipid was not affected significantly.All the nutrition materials were not affected significantly in the second period. The 29% treatments got high ADCs in two periods,it should be one adaptability meaure to low protein diets,by advance the ADCs to low price diets,to satisfy the need of body.4.There was significant difference found in the crude lipid and protein conent in the turtle body,but no significant difference was found in the water ,crude ash, carbohydrate and energy of the turtle body.5.Dietary protein level had significantly affected the nitrogen budget.The nitrogen budget equations of the treatments were as follows: 1 100C = 18.58G + 13.81F + 67.60U 2 100C = 17.24G + 11.99F + 70.77U 3 100C = 19.15G + 12.04F + 68.81U 4 100C = 21.15G + 11.64F + 67.20U 5 100C = 26.16G + 13.74F + 60.10U 6 100C = 21.03G + 11.73F + 67.23U 7 100C = 19.01G + 12.85F + 68.14U 8 100C = 27.95G + 11.10F + 60.95UThe ratio of feces nitrogen to the energy intake and nitrogen assimilation efficiency were significiently affected by the dietary protein level,the ratio of urine nitrogen of the nitrogen intake and the assimilative nitrogen ,the nitrogen growth efficiency and the nitrogen net growth efficiency were not significantly affects.Compare the nitrogen assimilation efficiency and nitrogen growth efficiency of the former four treatments and the after four treatments,except treatment 3 were higher than treatment 7, the treatments which took the 33% protein diet got higher nitrogen assimilation efficiency and nitrogen growth efficiency than the treatments which took the 43% protein diet when they were juvenile,we could infer that the treatments which took lower protein content not only affected the food intake and growth,but also advanced the nitrogen assimilation efficiency and nitrogen growth efficiency to adult turtles.Compare the treatment 3 and 4,treatment 7 and 8,the nitrogen growth efficiency of the treatments took 29% protein diets was higer than the the treatments took 29% protein diets,by reducing the feces and urine nitrogen ratio,advance the nitrogen growth efficiency,was the appearance of adaptablity to low protein diets of the adult turtles on nitrogen budget.6.Dietary protein level had significantly affected the energy budget.The energy budget equations of the treatments were as follows: 1 100C = 11.34F + 6.16U + 66.88R + 15.63G 2 100C = 10.72F + 5.45U + 71.85R + 11.98G 3 100C = 10.98F + 5.30U + 69.22R + 14.50G 4 100C = 9.74F + 4.60U + 70.81R + 14.85G 5 100C = 11.14F + 5.47U + 61.15R + 22.24G 6 100C = 10.77F + 5.18U + 67.92R + 16.12G 7 100C = 11.34F + 5.25U + 68.63R + 14.77G 8 100C = 9.30F + 4.17U + 67.26R + 19.27GThe ratio of feces energy and assimilation energy to the energy intake were significiently affected by the dietary protein level,the ratio of urine energy and metabolizable energy to the energy intake and assimilative energy were significiently affected by the dietary protein level.Energy growth efficiency and energy net growth efficiency were not significiently affected by the dietary protein level among the treatments.Compare the the former four treatments and the after four treatments,the energy growth efficiency of the after four treatments were higher than the former fourstreatments ,fed with low protein when the turtles were juvenile advanced the energy growth efficiency of adult turtles.Compare the treatment 3 and 4,treatment 7 and 8,the energy growth efficiency of the treatments took 29% protein diets was higer than the the treatments took 33% protein diets,by reducing the feces and urine energy ratio ,advancing the energy growth efficiency,was the appearance of adaptablity to low protein dietsof the adult turtles on energy budget. Through the analyse of the research results, conclusions could be get as follows:1.Treatment 7(33-33-33) got the best growth performance ,we could conclude that long-time feding with fitting low protein diets could a certain extent advance the growth to adult Chinese soft-shelled turtles.2.The domestication when the turtles are juvenile could affect when they're grown up,take diets with low protein when they were juvenile would advance the utilization of low protein diets later when they're grown up.3.The adaptability ability root by reducing the fence and urine nitrogen, fence and urine energy ratio,advanced the utilize effenciency consequently.4.The adaptability of low protein diets could be a long time to adult Chinese soft-shelled turtles.
