As a species with important economic and ecological value, though have persistently damaged by people and more and more demanded in market, natural Apocynum venetum L. becoming very lack , which make reproduction by man and searching tech of reproduce extremely essential and important.The experiments spent five months from 5th to 10th month in 2005 year on searching for reproduction tech and observing the characters of plant,in studhorse village,changling county,jilin province(44o38'N,123o41'E).Excavating natural root of Apocynum venetum L. as stuff,the experiment in pot and field began on the levels as follow: survive capability in different lengthes and different growth periods,the power of ABT to the 2cm root pieces.The survive efficiency is a new conception and index as an important conclusion of the study. It's real meaning is a ratio that survive rate to cost of reproduciation .It doesn't consider cost and use the traditional survive rate as a final conclusion and to direct practice in former study, as a result,which caused lots of mistakes. Because of adding cost to Survive efficiency ,this thinking and study measure avoids the disadvantage of thinking and considering the survive rate or cost separatenessly and make it more frank and obviousl when scale magrginal utility in planting activities.The means of thinking could be extend others field such as the biomass .Which conception and thinking means should strongly be adopt and use in the study and practice.The pot experiment result as follow:the survive rate of plump root and horizontal root in the first growth period would crease while the lengths of root crease and the former rate higher than the latter;the survive efficiency differ from the above result:to plumb root ,the highest value of survive efficiency appears wher the roog length is 3cm; to horizontal root ,it's 5cm.The biomass increases on condition of the length of root's increasing and the biomass of plumb root higher than horizontal root.For the biomass efficiency ,the largest value of aboveground biomass efficincy appears when the length of root is 8cm to plumb root ,there is no big difference between the underground biomass efficiency and underground biomass.The survive rate of the root of Apocynum venetum L. in different growth period would change as follow:the powerful growth period is the worst available period for reproduction among first growth period, powerful growth period and final growth period; the survive rate of plumb root changes lighter than horizontal root in the three period.ABT-1 is a powerful accelerate incretion to promote the survive rate of 2cm plumb root from 0 rate when no ABT to 65% when using it,and make the root bud the same count as sum of the lenths of the root.When use stem as material for reproduciation ,the result as follow:this measure is not a successful method ,the stem root difficultly,there is little energy deposition in the stem for it could root itself ,ABT is unuseful to the stem reproduciation.The field experiment result the conclusion as follow:the max survive rate happens if the root length is maximum 10cm;but if considering the material roots are finite and using these finite root make the largest sum of new plant the conclusion will different :to plumb root,8cm root will lighterly better than 10cm;to horizontal root,it's still 10cm. On condition that the lengths of root exceed 4cm,the efficiency of survive of horizontal root is extremely lower than plumb root,which means plump root make more contribution on the reproduction by man of Apocynum venetum L. than horizontal root.Comparing the pot experiment and field experiment could help to make decision:the former result can help in ideal condition or the condition that improved and is similar to ideal condition,the latter result could help in not so excellent condition.
