| In the present study, we cultured the Apocynum venetum L. seedling by the seeds from Jilin and Xinjiang province. The two provenance of seedlings were used for comparative anatomy analysis, the results showed as follow:1. The two provenance of A. venetum L were drought resistance. Their roots, stems and leaves had the special structure, which was similar to xerophyte, it was due to the low annual precipitation, high evaporation, poor soil and low nutrient content in their growing environment. The structure characteristic of the two kinds of A. venetum L. showed that they were well adapted to arid environment.2. It was feasible for A. venetum L. from Xinjiang province’s introduction and cultivation in Jilin province. The anatomical structure of roots, stems and leaves showed that the index of A. venetum L. from Xinjiang was greater than Jilin, the indicators including the leaf thickness, leaf epidermis thickness, vane thickness, palisade tissue thickness, the thickness ratio of palisade tissue and spongy tissue, stem diameter, stem cortex thickness, the ratio of stem diameter and vascular bundle to stem cortex thickness, root diameter. It indicated that A. venetum L. from Xinjiang was more drought resistance, it could grow well in Jilin province.3. There were plenty of cell ergastic substance in roots and stems of the two provenance of A. venetum L., studies have pointed out that colloidal substance such as resin and tannin in vegetative organs of xerophytes could block the water come through. In the present study, whether the cell ergastic substance was related to the drought resistance, which needed further study.4. There were no obvious difference in seed coat patterns between the two, it was strong stability. It could be used as an indicator of seed identification. |
