An experiment was conducted to clarify the effect of Total Mixed Ration on performance and meat quality in finishing cattle (bulls). 40 finishing cattle (bulls) with similar body weight (about430.0kg BW) were randomly divided into two treatments. The trial group use Total Mixed Ration while control group not. We investigated the effect of Total Mixed Ration on meat production performance, feed reward, blood chemical index and carcass characteristics in finishing cattle (bulls), and the results showed that:1. The average of total body weight gain and daily weight gain of bulls in trial group were 106.2kg and 1.18kg respectively after feeding for 90 days and were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.01)2. Glucose content for trial group were significantly higher than those of contiol group (P<0.01); The blood urea nitrogen content for trial group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05); The serum calcium content for trial group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05); The serum inorganic phosphorus content was lower than that of control group (P<0.05).3.The carcass yield and loin-eye area for trial group were 58.0%和89.6cm~2 respectively, and there was significant difference (P<0.05) between trial group and control group; There were no significant difference for chemical component of loin muscle between trial group and control group(P>0.05); The saturated fatty acid and unsaturated fatty acid content for trial group was the same as that of control group(P>0.05); the alanine and glutamic acid content for trial group were significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05).
