Increasing agricultural production efficiency and farmers' income are very important tasks in rural area. Now the adjustment of agricultural production structure is being widely carried out especially in poor farming land. With the development of agricultural production structure adjustment, some new patterns of land utilization are developed in southern farming region. Among them, the integration patterns of farming and pasturage such as planting forage in paddy field and breeding herbivore livestock(poultry) are developing quickly and steadily, and gradually reach to a certain scale. The purpose of this research is to probe the high yield cultivation technique of forage planting through a serial of experiments as different variety, sowing time, sowing amount, N rate and combination patterns of planting and farming experiment. Another aim of this study is to probe the primary technique of feeding goose with forage in Ningbo region. The result will give some scientific support to evaluate the production efficiency and develop forage cultivation and livestock(poultry) raising techniques.Annual ryegrass varieties of Advance and Domino were selected as appropriate cool-season forage varieties for developing the pattern of forage-goose system in Ningbo region according to variety test. Biomass yield of Advance and Domino increased 14.8ï¼…more than diploid Oregon ryegrass(control). They also have higher stem/leaf ratioa and longer duration(over 40d) of providing grass than control, which could provide grass until June. The warm-season forage varieties appropriate for developing the pattern of planting forage to feed goose in Ningbo region were sorghum-sorghum-sudan hybrid(Jumbo) and Lactuea indica. Jumbo is a good variety of late maturity, high light sensitivity, high yield, good palatbility and good disease resistance. Lactuea indic has high biomass yield and good taste to goose. They are both suitable for extending in Ninbo region for feeding goose in summer. The result showed that the optimum feeding goose capacity was 1000-1500 gooses per hm~2 forage grass. According to the digestion capacity of goose and growth traits of ryegrass, to buy young goose at different time was recommended. Increasing feeding scale, mainly depend on commercial feed in the early stage, then feeding ryegrass in the middle stage, increasing feed in the late stage and reducing animal movement were also recommended. All these measures will lead to a rapid growth of goose and an increase in solar utilization efficiency of ryegrass, which would increase profit per unit land.
