Mutton sheep industry in China still sticks on traditional feeding model, meaning feeding different forges separately, causing low efficiency, server waste, high cost, slaughtering rate, long feeding period and low quality. This research aims to fully use the forage resources in Tongliao to lower the feeding cost, enhance the production capability, improve the meat quality and raising efficiency, and provide scientific theoretical guidance for the drylot feeding in that area. This article is based on the evaluation of forage nutrition quality, referencing mutton sheep fattening nutrition requirements. Use alfalfa, astragalus adsurgens, lolium perenne, Pennisetum alopecuroides, and Sorghum sudanense as raw materials, combining the characteristics of patterning nutrition requirements. Based on different matching and combining thoughts,6different forage formulas were designed. Combining animal feed experiments and slaughter experiments, via the analysis of mutton sheep fattening ability, slaughtering, meat quality, and amino acid and aliphatic acid, comprehensively comparing the feeding qualities of different forage groups, mutton sheep fattening forage formulas in the agricultural areas are confirmed, which could provide scientific evidence for the formulating techniques. The main research results are as follow:1. Through determined the index of fattening lamb production performance and slaufhter performance, the total weight gain of group A (alfalfa:astragalus adsurgens: Pennisetum alopecuroides=40:40:20) and group C (alfalfa: lolium perenne=60:40) are highest, has a good meat productivity and slaughter rate.2. Though analysis on the indicators such as physical and chemical properties, amino acids and fatty acids of fattening lamb, the lamb meat of group A (alfalfa: astragalus adsurgens:Pennisetum alopecuroides=40:40:20) and group C (alfalfa: lolium perenne=60:40) have the best flavor and the highest food value, the most useful to human health.3. Under the experiments condition of this research, comprehensive analysis of fattening lambs indicators, group A (alfalfa: astragalus adsurgens: Pennisetum alopecuroides=40:40:20) and group C (alfalfa: lolium perenne=60:40) could realize the optimum result, and its production, quality and relish are obviously better than other groups.4. Though lamb group C is better than other groups on meat production, its high cost of forage greatly limits the economic benefits. From the perspective of full use of roughage and the farmers and herdsmen affordability considerations, group A(alfalfa: astragalus adsurgens: Pennisetum alopecuroides=40:40:20) is apparently more suitable for the local farmers.
