Some experiments were carried out in this study. ExperimentⅠwas to evaluate theeffects of wilted and additives on the fermentation qualities of silages made from Italianryegrass at booting stage. ExperimentⅡwas study the effect with feeding trial onbodyweight of New-Zealand white rabbit. The silage treatments were as follows in experimentⅠ:(1) control at 80%moisturecontent, (2) control+complex additive, (3) wilted at 73%moisture content, (4) wilted at73%moisture content+complex additive (5) wilted at 64%moisture content, (6) wilted at64%moisture content+complex additive. The plastic vacuum bag silo was used in theexperiments, the silos were opened on 3, 5, 7, 10,15, 20 and 30 days after ensiling, respectively. After the silos were opened and the contents were mixed thoroughly, a 50-g ofsample was taken from each silo and a 150-g of distilled water was added before beingstored in the refrigerator at 4℃for 24 hours. Then, the extracts were filtered throughdouble layers cheesecloth and a filter paper, and the filtrates were used for thedetermination of pH, ammonia. The numbers of microorganism was determined in 30 daysof silage.Baced on the results:1).silage effluent occurred on control silage if complex additive was not added, itwould result in badly silage.2). The complex additive silages had a better quality than wilted at 73%moisturecontent, The pH decreased 0.44(P<0.05), NDF decreased 4.17%(P<0.05), the WSCincreased 1.07%(P<0.05), CP increased 0.09%, NH3-N decreased 0.014%, DM loss wasdecreased 3.24%, The numbers of lactic acid bacteria is higher than the control. The Yeast, mold and other bacteria were lower than the control, and improved silage quality beclassified as high grade on 20 days.3). The complex additive silages was better than wilted at 64%moisture content:NDF decreased 2.31%o(P<0.05), the WSC increased 0.28%o (P<0.05), CP increased0.36%, NH3-N decreased 0.28%, DM loss was decreased 1.32%, The numbers of lacticacid bacteria is higher than the control. The numbers of yeast and other bacteria were lowerthan that of the control. Mold was not found, The two group silage quality can be classifiedas high grade.4). The dates of feeding trial suggested that it was economic profile if complexadditive silage were feed to New-Zealand white rabbit.
