JS118, which is a new bionic insect growth regulator, has been manufactured and developed by Jiangsu Pesticide Research company in recent years. This paper was researched initially by HPLC on the residue of the JS118 and found out the degradation rule in cabbage and soil. The residuewas extracted with dichlomethane. After florisil column cleanup, HPLC wasemployed for detection. The limit of determination was 0.0151 mg·kg-1 , The recovery of JS118 in cabbage,soil and flower was 86.96 %~96.54 %,82.69%~95.93% and 84.45%~97.24%.the variation coefficient was 1.09%~5.36%,2.34%~6.31% and 1.32%~4.63% respectively. Therefore, The sensitivity and accuracy and precision of the means accorded with damand of pesticide residue.The degradation results indicated the dissipation dynamics of 10% JS118 suspending agent accorded with C=C0E-kt in cabbage as well as in soil. Moreover it had high correlation. The degradating speed of JS118 in soil is slower than in cabbage. The half life of JS118 in leaf was 3.68 days averagely ,6.08 days in soil and 4.07 days in flower.The paper reported the final residue experiment of JS118 in cabbage and soil. The results indicated that there were positive relation between residue and amount as well as times sprays for , and negative relation residue and the days from last application to harvest. Namely, the residue increased in pace of them .After JS118 was used in cabbage , its residue was rather low . For this reason , the edible cabbage was quite safe. Beside, the possibility of pollution of soil was pinding.
