The Variation Of PPO Activity In Wheat Varieties Which Planted In Different Place

To understand the variations of wheat PPO activities in China,and select varieties with steady and low PPO activities,285 and 251 wheat varities were planted in FengYang and HeFei Farm in the year of 05-06,respectively,and the PPO activities were tested using as catecholase substrate in spectrophotometer.The results showed as follows:1,The span of distributing of PPO activity was wide in Fengyang about 285 cultivars,at the same time,the lower PPO activity which was 120～180AU/min~*g distributed intently more cultivars.There was more cultivars which PPO activity was 120～180AU/min~*g among 251 cultivars in Hefei,too.Both in Fengyang and in Hefei, there was little materials which PPO activity higher 360AU/min~*g while the materials which PPO activity lower 150AU/min~*g was 32.62%and16.33%,respectively。2,The PPO activity of some wheat cultivars planted widely in China was very different,the variations of wheat PPO activities in Fengyang about 43.52%,in Hefei was 54.59%,The firsthand materials PPO activity about 71.00%.3,The analysis of the same varieties for two place had showed that the PPO activity were high significantly correlated and the coefficient was 0.93.This suggested that genotypes were factors responsible for PPO activity.4,The experiments have selected some lower PPO varieties,such as Zijuehong,Fan6, Emai5,Xianmai,Zhahong,Tanzhong23,Chaoanxiaomai Federation,34 varieties. The PPO activity was lower than 150.00AU/min~*g in two places.The selection and use of these wheat germplasms with low PPO activity would be benefit to wheat quality improvement.5 The analysis of the same varieties for two years had showed that the PPO activity were high significantly correlated and the coefficient was 0.82.This suggested that genotypes were factors responsible for PPO activity.
