Mimosa pudica L, perennial herbaceous flowers, belongs to mimosa pudica genusof bean family. It originated in tropical area of America, introduced into China long agoand now cultivated in pots popular.Through the methods of potting, simulating indoor and plant analysis, the basicgrowth conditions for hydroponic Mimosa pudica were studied preliminariely. Theresults were as follows:â‘ Selecting experiment of nutrient solutions. The resultsindicated that different nutrient solutions had significant effects on the growth anddevelopment of Mimosapudica. Treatment 8 (1/8s of formulaâ…¡) is more suitable forgrowth of Mimosa pudica, according to the indexes of different nutrient solutions on thegrowth and development of Mimosa pudica.â‘¡Solution pH experiment. According to itsmorphology and physiology indexes, such as fresh weight, plant height, crown diameter, leaves number, brangches number, Chlorophyll content, MDA content, the treatmentpH 6.0 was superior to other pH treatments. So, the nutrient solution of pH 6.0 is mostsuitable for growth of Mimosa pudica.â‘¢Aeration time experiment. By considering forthe indexes of fresh weight, plant height, crown diameter, branches number, stemdiameter. The treatment B(aeration time 6h per day) was significantly superior to otheraeration treatments. Moreover, Root activity was higher than other treatments. So theaeration time 6h per day is the most suitable treatment for growth of Mimosapudica.â‘£The experiment of plant shape control. PP333 and CCC can obviously inhibitMimosa pudica from growing, either by spraying or by waterring. But watering PP333seriously inhibited the growth and development of Mimosa pudica. So this treatment isnot suitable for the solution culture of Mimosa pudiea. The concentration of sprayedCCC 100 mg/L can control growth of hydroponic Mimosa pudica very effectively andsafely. This paper preliminariely studied nutrient solution, areation time and plant shapecontrolling in solution culture of Mimosa pudica. The results provide useful data forindustrialization of hydroponic Mimosa pudica.
