Anthurium scherzerianu, an evergreen perennial herbaceous flowers, belongs to Anthurium genus of Araceae family, originated in Colombia of Central and South America. In global market Anthurium scherzerianu is the second tropical flower, only behind the orchid. In recent years, the Anthurium scherzerianu develops rapidly in China. It was the fifth cut flower behind Rose rugosa, Dianthus caryophyllus,Dendronthema morifolium and Gladiolus hybridus. But some problems are revealed in production, such as immature cultivation technologies,different quality products and large gap exists in our products compared with imported products.Through the methods of simulating experiments and plant sample analysis, the basic growing conditions of hydroponics for Anthurium scherzerianum were studied. The results showed as follows:â‘ Different treatments of nutrient solutions had significant effects on the growth and development of Anthurium scherzerianum. According to the indexes of different nutrient solutions on the growth and development of Anthurium scherzerianum, Treatment 4 (1s of formulaâ…¡) is selected as suitable nutrient solution for growth of Anthurium scherzerianum.â‘¡The experiment of different aeration time on Anthurium Scherzerianum in hydroponics indicated that aeration time 12 hours per day and 20 hours per day had no significant differences, but significantly superior to other aeration treatments. Therefore, aeration time 12h per day is suitable for solution culture of Anthurium scherzerianum.â‘¢The experiment of different N, P, K concentration in hydroponics indicated that in vegetative growing period, the disposal 4(N+P+K=7.2mmol/L+1.3mmol/L+3.0mmol/L)significantly promoted the plant growth. In reproductive growing period, thedisposal 8 (N+P+K=4.4mmol/L+1.0mmol/L+4.0mmol/L) could accelerate plant flowering, extendeing blooming time and improving the flower quality.â‘£The experiment of different N forms and ratio on Anthurium Scherzerianum in hydroponics indicated that different N forms and ratio had different effects on the growth and development of Anthurium scherzerianum. The growth of plants treated with both NO3--N and NH4+-N was better than that of plants treated with single nitrogen form. The appropriate ratio of NO3--N to NH4+-N is 1:1. This treatment can promote the growth of Anthurium scherzerianum and improved the flower quality.
