The technical of straw mulching in field has been given increasing attention, but meanwhile, there are many questions to be solved during production and application. Through summer corn irrigation of potted plant, plot and the field experiment, we obtained the following conclusion:(1) The effects of straw mulching on the ground evaporation, the physiological characters, and photosynthetic characteristic of potted summer corn were obvious. The ground evaporation capacity reduced along with the straw mulching quantity larger, the value of straw mulching quantity at 0.3kg/m2, 0.6kg/m2, 0.9kg/m2, and 1.2kg/m2 was respectively lower than no mulching by 29.1%, 50.6%, 58.9%和64.7%; And the stem length, leaf of area, photosynthetic rate, dry matter accumulation showed increasing trend along with the straw mulching quantity larger, the increasing amplitude of stem length, leaf of area was smooth when the straw mulching quantity is at 0.9kg/m2, and the dry matter accumulation of straw mulching quantity at 0.3kg/m2, 0.6kg/m2, 0.9kg/m2, and 1.2kg/m2 was respectively higher than no mulching by 28.4%, 61.4%, 70.2%, and 93.8%.(2) The coupling of straw mulching and irrigation influenced the soil surface water, physiological characters, yield, and water utilization efficiency with different degree. Doing the t-test of straw mulching treatments of 0.3kg/m2, 0.6kg/m2, 0.9kg/m2, 1.2kg/m2, and no mulching, we found the difference of 0-6cm topsoil moisture under treatment of 0.6kg/m2, and 0.9kg/m2 was remarkable, and under treatment of 0.3kg/m2 was not remarkable. Carrying on the extreme analysis of orthogonal test, the effect of treatments on difference degree of stem length, carline diameter, yield was consistent, and the sequence of effect degree was irrigation times→irrigation norm→straw mulching quantity, the optimal combination was straw mulching quantity at 0.9kg/m2+ irrigation norm at 60m3 /mu+ irrigation times at four; And the effect of treatments on difference degree of corn water utilization efficiency, the sequence of effect degree was straw mulching quantity→irrigation times→irrigation norm, the optimal combination was straw mulching quantity at 0.9kg/m2+ irrigation norm at 60m3 /mu+ irrigation times at three. (3) The straw mulching influenced the change of soil temperature obviously. The 0 ~15cm soil layer in field, reducing the soil temperature at day, and increasing the soil temperature at night, and the influenced degree of straw mulching was higher than stubble mulching; And the influence of straw mulching was not obvious at 15~25cm soil layer. The maximum soil profile temperature day amplitude of every treatment gradually reduced along with soil deep, the maximum soil temperature day amplitude of no mulching was biggest, and the difference of straw mulching and stubble mulching was not obvious. The average maximum amplitude by day of straw mulching and stubble mulching was respectively lower than no mulching by 33.6% and 20.75%.
