In recent years, the industry of processing tomato begin increasing fastly in China. Owning to the feasible climate in Xinjiang, the area cultivated processing tomato has already risen to 53,000 hectares presently from less 6660 hectares originally. With the application of drip irrigation technology, the fruit quality is excellent and the output is high on processing tomato. The annual output of tomato ketchup has already reached 700,000t in 2006 from 300,000t in 2001, too. But The labour force is lack in autumn, and the irrigative and farming condition are changing . In addition,the cost and waste on harvisting is high,all this will be settled when a suitable harvesting technology is found.The content and results analysis was completed in this paper:Through experimenting and researching ,and according to the harvesting row space requested by the SL-350 automatic harvesting machine imported from US and the growth characteristic of the processing tomato varieties, Six processing tomato varieties which are suitable with mechanical harvesting were selected;Three planting models with drip irrigation which can be used on processing tomato and cotton was set up;The most economical harvesting plan which is one manual harvesting and mechical harvesting has been defined;The methed of management on the field and the rules of recovery with drip irrigation and cultivation machinery on processing tomato be summarized . In addition, comparing and analysising investments and incomes between conventional irrigation with ditches / manual harvesting way and the drip irrigation / mechical harvesting way on processing tomato ,we can conclude that the profit will be increasing 20 percent with the drip irrigation / mechical harvesting way on processing tomato, the economic benefits will be obtained along with the ecological benefits and social benefits. The technical system of drip irrigation and mechical harvesting on processing tomato is:Using the selected varieties, adopting the planting model of drip irrigation under mulch film / mechical harvesting way, implementing the harvesting plan of one manual harvesting and mechical harvesting, corresponding the methed of management on the field and the rules of recovery with drip irrigation and cultivation machinery on processing tomato .
