The study on the biology of Lucioperca lucioperca and the genetic relationship withits related species were carried out with the purpose of giving directions on masspropagation and extending-culture of Lucioperca lucioperca. The development of the fertilized eggs and the feeding of yolk-sac larvae ofLucioperca lucioperca in the period of starvation had been observed. The results showedthat it took 194h for the fertilized eggs to hatch with water temperature 13℃, the durationof feeding ability of hungry larval was shorted, only 5 days. The toxicity function of cupric sulfate(CuSO4), zinc sulfate(ZnSO4), potassiumchloride(CdCl2) formaldehyde(CH3OH) and trichlorphon(C4H8O4Cl3P) to embryodevelopment of pikeperch was studied. The propositional upper limit concentrations ofCd2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ in the water were 0.2mg·L-1, 0.4mg·L-1 and 8mg·L-1 respectively. Thesafe concentrations of formaldehyde and trichlorphon to embryo development of pikeperchwere 200mg·L-1 and 0.4mg·L-1 respectively. The acute toxicity of cupric sulfate(CuSO4), potassium permanganat(KMnO4),trichlorphon(C4H8O4Cl3P) and NaCl to fingerling of pikeperch was studied in tanks withstatic water. 96-h LC50 values of cupric sulfate, potassium permanganate, trichlorphon andNaCl to fingerling of pikeperch were 4.81mg·L-1, 3.37mg·L-1, 2.13mg·L-1 and9800.20mg·L-1.The change of plankton community and the growth of the fry of pikeperch werestudied in pikeperch pond. Results showed that the state of change of quantity of planktonshowed curve. At the same time, the growth of the fry of pikeperch showed reatively slowgrowth in preliminary and sharp growth in later period. Based on mitochondrial Cytb gene sequences, pariwise genetic distance betweenpikeperch and freshwater perch, pikeperch and black bass were 0.197 and 0.229respectively, while pariwise genetic distance between pikeperch and freshwater perch, pikeperch and black bass based on mitochondrial D-loop sequences were 0.276 and 0.427.Based on two sequences, the structure of two phylogenetic trees showed that the clade ofLucioperca lucioperca and Perch fluviatilis appeared to be the sister group to aMicropterus salmoides and Micropterus dolomieu clade. The results showed thatLucioperca lucioperca had a close relationship with Perch fluviatilis, but a far relationshipwith Micropterus salmoides.
