The main characteristics of crass progenies(furong-crucian) were asfollows:D.Ⅲ, 16-18;A.Ⅲ,5-6. the number of scales in lateral line is32-35 and 5-6 in the upper and lower, the ratio of the body length tobody height is 2.60±0.12, to head length is 3.63±0.16 and to bodythickness is 5.26±0.33;the ratio of the hand length to eye diameter lengthis 555±0.44, to the distance between eyes is 1.88±0.10 and to the lipslength is 2.86±0.50;the ratio of the caudal peduncle length to heightis 1.00±0.10;the ratio of the all length to the body length is 1.20±0.20.Traditional morphological data and frame data were combined toconduct multivratoin analysis to study the morphological variationsamong the hybrid of red crucian(Carassius auratus red var.,♂)×hybridcarp(Cypninus carpio furong♀).Ch-square analysis of meristiccharacters indicated that there were no significant differeces amongthese five expermental fishes. But the results of cluster analysis ofmetric characters showed that there were some differences among thesefive fishes except between furong-carp and red carp. All was quitedifferent form the other fishes. Oiscriminant analysis indicated thatthere were significant differences among these five fishes. Theidentification accuracy was ranked as C1[100%]>A3[96%]>A2[87%]>A1[81.3%]B1[73.1%].In this study, the random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) techniquewas used to analyze the genetic variation among the hybrid of redcrucian(Carassius auratus red var.,♂)×hybrid carp(Cypninus carpiofurong♀),.Twenty 10-nucleotide-long random primers were used in theRAPD analysis. Of these promers, 12 primers pronduced and well-amplifiedand reproducible band patterns. There were 0 to 7 bands ranging in size form about 60 to 1350 bp in the amplified products of a single primer. Afterexcluding bands that were not clearly identifiable, a total of 961distinguishable fragments were compiled for phylogenrtic reationshipanalysis. The genetic similarity index of the amplified DNA bands betweenfurong-crucian and their original paternal red crucian carp was 67.01%,and their original paternal hydrid carp was 62.38%. The similarity indexof the amplified DNA bands between furong-carp and their original paternalred carp 77.53%, and their original paternal mirror carp was 71.64%. Thesimilarity index of the amplified DNA bands between furong-carp and redcrucian carp was 63.95%.
