In the paper, the general situation on occurrence and damage of the main forestpests in Shandong Province was summarized, the characteristic and reasons ofoccurrence was analyzed, general situation of management and the question in controlpractice were also discussed as well. Enhancing research and extension on biologicalcontrols technology, exerting the function of all the bio-resources in the ecosystem,implementing the sustainable control were proposed and regarded as the necessaryrequest of forest pests management in Shandong province. Primary study andextension were developed on 3 aspects included natural enemy insect release andapplication, biopesticides application and the control technology with bird. The findingswere as follows:The releasing time, quantity and method of Scleroderma guaxi Xiao et wu weredetermined in order to control Semanotus bifasciatus (Motschulsky). The beetle larvaaverage mortality rate was 71.3% in the control area, tiptop reached 76.1%, the averageparasitism rate was 64.8%, the tiptop 71.0%, which proved the effect to be obvious.Considering the the host is broad, gathering is easy and the method of application issimple, the technology of control Scleroderma guaxi Xiao et wu by Semanotusbifasciatus (Motschulsky) is regarded as a prospect method of biocontrol.Chouioia cunea yang was considered as the outstanding natural enemies tocontrol Hyphantria cunea and Micromelalopha siversi (Staudinger) jkh nm, that arethe most serious pests harmed with poplar. So long as the releasing time, quantity andmethod of Scleroderma guaxi Xiao et wu were commanded earnestly, the controllingeffect were obvious and the effect of second generation better than first generation.The result also showed the effect was better in the mildly occurrence field than theserious occurrence. In the field of serious occurrence, the intergrated managementshould be carried out included application afforestation, chemistry controll, manual preventing and controlling. The situation of extension and application of Chouioiacunea yang in Shandong were summarized in the paper as well.The result showed that Calosoma maximoviczi Morowitzi has certain controlleffect to many kinds of pest. The overall effect was not extremely remarkable, but hascertain effect to the pest in long-term control. The preys spectrum had certain selectivity,appulsive on the Lepidoptera especially the large-scale larva, appulsive on differentstand also.Summerized the extension and application of biopesticides in Shandong Province.Investigated the main beneficial bird in Shandong province, and the extension andapplication of the control technology with bird.Proposed the question and improvement direction in the extension and applicationof biocontrol in Shandong province.Based on the results refered above, the sustainable control countermeasure on theforest pests in Shandong province was brought out.
