The experiment was conducted to investigate health and anti-oxidative effects of Acanthopanaxsenticosus in calf.Methods: 12 ChineseHolstein male calfs, aged 7 days, were allotted to 4 groups randomly, 3 foreach group (group 1 is acanthopanacis senticos super added chemistry compounding chemicals,group 2 is acanthopanacis senticos super, group 3 is acanthopanacis senticos coarse powder,group 4 is blank). The experiment lasted for three weeks. The trial is divided into trial one,trialtwo and trial three. The index of immune organ were determined in trial one. The activities ofSOD, GSH-Px,the content of MDA and T-AOC were determined in trial two. The content oftotal protein,albumin and the activities of glutamic oxalacetic transaminase,glutamic pyruvictransaminase were determined in trial three.Results: Trial 1: The index of liver and spleen in group 1 were markedly higher than that in controlgroup (P<0.05). The index of thymus in group 1, group 2 were markedly higher than that incontrol group (P<0.01, P<0.01); RGR of calf in group 1, group 2 and group 3 were higher thanthat in control group, increased 12.69% (P>0.05), 10.17% (P>0.05), 1.17% (P>0.05). Trial2:The activity of SOD in liver in groupl and group2 were markedly higher than that in controlgroup (P<0.01, P<0.01); The activity of MDA in liver in groupl and group2 were markedlylower than that in control group (P<0.01, P<0.01); The activity of SOD in serum of calf, aged14days, in groupl,group 2,group 3 were markedly higher than that in control group (P<0.05), Theactivity of SOD in serum of calf, aged21, 28days,in group1,group 2 were markedly higher than thatin control group (P<0.01), The activity of SOD in serum of calf, aged28days, in group 3 weremarkedly higher than that in control group (P<0.05).The content of MDA in serum of calf, aged28 days, in groupl and group2 were markedly lower than that incontrol group (P<0.01). Trial3: The content of T-CHO in serum of calf aged 14 days in group1 were markedly higher than thatin group3 and control group (P<0.05), the content of T-CHO in serum of calf, aged 21days, ingroup1 were markedly higher than that in group3 and control group (P<0.01),and in group2 weremarkedly higher than that in group3 and control group (P<0.05, P<0.01). The content of GLOin serum in group1, group2,group 3 (P<0.05) were markedly higher than that in control group, thecontent of GLO in serum of calf, aged 21days, in group2 were markedly higher than that incontrol group (P<0.05). Immunization function on calf. Second, activities of SOD were increased and the content MDAwas decreased by Acanthopanax senticosus, promoting the health of calf accordingly. Third,antioxcidative effects of different processing production of Acanthopanax senticosus weredifferent on calf, because of different biological using percentage of their activity component.
