| The research and application of agriculture cropping design system would be important for facilitating development of informational and digital agriculture. Based on the summarization and extraction of regional agriculture cropping theory and technology achievements, a set of dynamic knowledge models which can be used for cropping system design, cropping ecological distribution, precision management, and estimation of cropping productivity were developed through system analysis theory and modeling method. By using the technology of software component, with GIS as spatial information management platform, a GIS and model-based system for cropping design was developed. The system realized the standard management of regional cropping information and design of cropping system at different levels, and lays a foundation for facilitating the quantification and digitization of cropping design system.The development of model for agriculture cropping design is an important technic in this research. Based on the knowledge of bionomics, systematology, crop cultivation and farming, and with system analysis theory and mathematic modeling technology, the cropping design knowledge model which has stronger applicability and generality has been developed by summarizing the theory and technology of agricultural production management. The cropping design knowledge model includes the sub-models of cropping system design, ecological distribution, productivity evaluation and precision farming.Considering the temporal, spatial and dynamic characters of agriculture information, the GIS was applied to agriculture cropping information management, and the attribute database and spatial database were constructed, and the connection of spatial database with attribute database was realized. Based on the component characteristics as independency of development environment, flexibility of soft upgrade, convenience of integration, and with Visual Basic as development platform, the integrating technique of GIS and model was investigated, and then a GIS and model-based agriculture cropping design system was developed. The system realized the standard management about regional cropping information and cropping system design at different levels, provided the functions as file management, map handling, information query, cropping system design, ecological distribution, precision management, estimation of cropping productivity, expert knowledge consultation, system maintenance and system help.Case study and testing of the system were carried out with the data from eco-sites of Jiangsu province and eastern area of China. The result indicated that the design idea and structure framework of system met the development demand of modern agriculture cropping design system, and realized standard and digital management of agriculture spatial information. Users can simply operate the system without requirement of the GIS platform. The system exhibited higher information management efficiency and query speed, as well as good applicability and guidance on ecological layout and decision support for agricultural farming. The case study of the system with the datasets in Yizheng city indicated that the assessment results were basically consistent with the practical local farmland production environment quality, and showed a good guidance on ecological zoning of quality farm products. The other case study of the system with the datasets in Jiangning area indicated that the system could automatically generate diverse management prescriptions on the basis of the field differences. With the application of these prescriptions, grain yield differences among the fields were reduced while the average yield increased, and fertilization efficiency and economy benefit were obviously enhanced. |
