Water storage pit irrigation is a kind of new irrigation method that solves the problem of drought of orchard in hilly region and water and soil erosion of north China. In this condition it is propitious to aerate and filter in the soil and respire in the roots, at the same time it meliorates roots growth environment. So studying transaction character of fruiter roots and drinking mechanism have important worthiness for studying holding water and resisting drought and improving water using rate in the region of drought and semiaridity.Now water storage pit irrigation barely comes into the field, the fruiter roots grow slowly, it is not easy to find the variety of fruiter roots growth in the short period. So the filed examination and the indoor examination are synchronous to have, in the indoor examination we choose wood-plant t cotton. In this paper, adopting indoor experiment, theoretic analysis and numerical simulation, having the study of physiological character and root growth distribution of cotton in the condition of different moisture transaction, the aim is to fund experience for study of fruiter roots in water storage pit irrigation. The main study contents are as follows:1.Throwing the observation for the cotton educe conclusion of cotton partial physiological character: when moisture transaction reduce, WSD of leaves increase, water retention of leaves reduce and leaves water potential are less than high moisture transaction, the high of cotton and leaves area index and evapotranspiration descend. This illuminates the roots capability of providing moisture and nourishment is descending in the condition of moisture intimidation, so the cotton physiological character is low. The bleeding variety is coherent with moisture transaction, nightly bleeding is more lofty than diurnal, this illuminates roots action increase when moisture transaction is high. Based dates analyzing: the relation of leaves water potential and volume water content is quadric multinomial, and leaves area index and volume water content are too, the relation evapotranspiration and leaves area index is beeline.2.By analyzing roots dates knows root growth distribution of cotton in the condition of different moisture transaction through WINRHIZO root analyzing software: in the entire generational period roots growth guidelines (roots length density, roots area density, roots average diameter) deflect little, the variety of roots average diameter is not more disciplinary than roots length density and roots area density in the upside 30cm soil; This illuminates moisture intimidation is not propitious to grow for cotton. Along soil vertical direction the roots length density shows logarithm descending, the roots area density shows exponential descending; along soil aclinic direction roots three growth guidelines put up descending current.3.Based examination dates establish roots uptake model it includes growth days. Throwing soil water dynamics theory validates aptness.The cotton is similar to fruiter because the cotton roots is taproot and hugeness and growth days is long. This paper will offer stated use for reference and consult for the fruiter examination in the field in the condition of Water storage pit irrigation.
