Glucosinolates(GSs) are a group of plant secondary metabolites. GS degradationproducts are responsible for characteristic flavor, anti-fungus, pathogen defense system andanti-carcinogenic function, but some components can cause domestic animals strumaturgescence. There are abundance of GSs in cruciferous plants, exogenous substances andplanting methods can affect the content of GS. This paper studied the effects of exogenousamino acids on the GS compositions and content of Chinese kale, and optimized theregulation methods of applying amino acid. Thus it provides the theory for improving thecontent of GS by a scientific approach.The result showed that eight kinds of GSs were detected in Chinese kale, but thecontents of individual GS and the varieties of predominant GS varied with Chinese kalecultivars. Among the 28 cultivars, '04BF-1229-1' had the highest content of total GS,indolyl GS and GBC; 'Zizhi' had highest content of aliphatic GS; 'DE' had the highestcontent of RAA, and 'Sijiyouqingtianjielan' had the highest ratio of RAA to the total GS.The content of total GS, aliphatic GS, indolyl GS, PRO, S1N, RAA, NAP, 4ME andNEO of Met foliar spray treatment were higher than that of irrigating treatment in'Mingren' and 'Zaosheng35tianjielankuai'. The content of RAA and GBC and the ratio ofRAA content to the total GS amount of Met foliar spray treatment were higher thanirrigating treatment in 'Sijiyou qingtianjielan'. Therefore, the effect of Met foliar spraytreatment was better than irrigating treatment for improving GS amount and RAA content.The contents of various GSs changed after Met foliar spray treatment. The highestcontent of total GS and aliphatic GS appeared in Met foliar spray 6d treatment. The highestRAA content appeared in Met foliar spray 8d treatment. The highest content of indoly GSand GBC appeared in Met foliar spray 24h treatment. Therefore; the higher content ofvarious GSs occurred 24h after Met foliar spray.Six amino acids Met, Phe, Trp, Gly, Glu and Cys improved the content of RAA of'Zizhi' with different degree, While there weren't significant effect on the content of RAAof 'Sijiyou qingtianjielan'. Six amino acids treatments all increased the content of indoly GS and GBC; Phe,Trp,Gly, Glu and Cys treatments increased the content of total GS; Cys,Phe and Gly treatments increased the amount of aliphatic GS. Met, Phe, Trp, Gly and Glutreatments increased the content of indoly GS and GBC of 'Zizhi'; Trp and Gly treatmentsincreased the content of total GS; Gly treatment increased the content of aliphatic GS. Theeffects of exogenous amino acids on the contents of other GS, qualities and mine elementscontent were different according to different amino acids There was certain relativitybetween the change of GS amount and other nutrition content.
