Application Of The Rosaceae Trees On Urban Gardens

The culture of Rosaceae trees have a long history at home and abroad,Their flowers, leaf, branch, gesture, have a high ornamental value for garden application. Because of the geography position and weather condition in Nanjing city, the Rosaceae trees can see everywhere,such asXuanwu park, Meihua mountain. Mochouhu lake etc. Although a good applicability and the ornamental value, they also have many problems in the actual application. We should do more study about the form and the characteristic of the garden application of the Rosaceae trees in Nanjing city. Just under this situation, We chose 30 places to study the garden application of the Rosaceae trees as the thesis for my master's degree, and hope those can provide the help and referrence for the Garden construction of Nanjing city.This paper reviews the history of utilization of the Rosaceae trees in landscape in China base on many ancient books. We can see Rosaceae trees as a major trees in many royalty, private and temple gardens. We can draw a conclusion that those plant used link with our long culture history. In this paper we also use the Japan cherry blossom and Najing plum blossom as the example to introduce and analyze flower festive characteristics about the Rosaceae. And provide some advices for the future.By survey and research nanjing gardens, we may find that the Rosaceae trees comprises 11 genera and 55 species in common use in Nanjing city , including Spiraea, Kerria, Pvrus Prunus, Rosa, Chaenomeles ,Malus, Eriobotrya, Crataegus, Photinia and Frethorn. in which Prunus are the most application in Nanjing city. We also know Purple-Leaf, Plum,Prunus mume, Pyracantha Fortuneana, Peach, Crabapple, Ornamental Cherries and Rose are the most abroad used in Nanjing city.By survey inXuanwuhu park ,Mouchou park and Meihua mountain ,we can see many kinds of Rosebush trees section are small arbor ,short of big arbor and terra plant. So in the real application we should choose big thin crown tree, endure shade flower shrub, endure shade terra plants. And from plant sight with stabilize structure, rich layers, harmonious design.From a comprehensive evaluation of some Rosaceae trees ,on the one hand we can clearly see some of trees got higher scores and already used properly in Nanjing city, such as Prunus mume,spiraea japonica,the Golden-leaf Spiraea japonica,Japanese cherry.Prunus cistena, Peach, Rosa multiflora,Malus halliana koehne,Malus micromalus,Prunus triloba,Photinia glabra and Pyracantha fortuneana.we also can see those trees view effect, zoology adaptability and culture got higher scores. On the other hand,some trees such as Birchleaf Pear, Mountain Peach, Prunus glandulosa, Exochorda Racemesa and Raspberry, also got high scores but less application , showing that those trees have a bright future in Nanjing city.
